About the Portfolio:
This portfolio is a critical part of the organisation, ensuring that all records of AMASA Council activities are maintained and that content requiring publication is properly planned and executed. The candidate will need to create professional and creative communication to engage with the industry and will work closely with the Digital and PR teams. The candidate will also organise team meetings and assist each team in crafting content for their press releases or advertisements for upcoming events. This role involves close collaboration with the AMASA Chairperson and the Deputy Chairperson.

About the Portfolio:
The AMASA Education Portfolio is committed to upskilling and empowering the next generation of media and advertising professionals. At the core of the portfolio is the Media Management Course, AMASA’s flagship programme in partnership with leading educational institutions. This course brings industry experts together to share their expertise, providing learners with essential media planning tools and a comprehensive understanding of different media channels, enabling them to craft effective brand strategies.

A key element of the portfolio is the AMASA Nuts & Bolts of Media Planning Textbook. This resource plays a crucial role in enhancing industry literacy by providing academic institutions with up-to-date, relevant content that aligns with current industry practices. It ensures that learners have access to material that reflects the latest trends and techniques in media planning, bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application.

The portfolio also includes the Gordon Patterson AMASA Learnership Programme (GPALP), which offers bursaries to candidates within the industry and recent graduates from marketing, media, and advertising fields. This program pairs financial support with mentorship, providing candidates with invaluable industry experience and the opportunity for placement within media and advertising companies.

Additionally, the AMASA Workshop provides a dynamic three-day (including the weekend) experience where newcomers to the industry are introduced to its complexities and connect with seasoned professionals. Designed to equip young talent with practical knowledge and essential networking opportunities, the workshop ensures they are well-prepared to succeed in the fast-paced world of media and advertising, contributing to the long-term sustainability and growth of the industry.
